Hotel Distribution Channel

What is a hotel distribution channel?
A hotel distribution channel is a path through which a guest or travel seller books a room. Direct channels include the hotel’s website and reservations team. Indirect channels include online travel agencies (OTAs), wholesalers, tour operators, global distribution systems (GDS), and other travel sellers.
Each channel has a different cost, audience, cancellation pattern, payment flow, and operational burden. A useful distribution strategy measures net contribution by property instead of treating every booking source as interchangeable.
How hotels manage multiple distribution channels
When a hotel sells through multiple channels, a hotel Channel Manager distributes rates, availability, and restrictions, then returns reservations, modifications, and cancellations to the hotel’s systems. This replaces separate manual updates in every channel extranet.
For custom PMS, CRS, partner, or reporting workflows, review the Channel Manager API.
Managing hotel distribution
ChannelRUSH keeps rates, availability, restrictions, and reservations synchronized across OTAs, wholesalers, and other distribution partners. Multi-property operators can apply portfolio controls, preserve property-level exceptions, and inspect reservation history when a channel or PMS message needs investigation.
